Never Again Movement

Has this prediction happened? I do believe so.  I can’t speak for Naper, however with our children now becoming activist, one has to question where the US goes from here. Its awesome to believe these children can move the needle.

Be apart of our children’s cause be apart of the change, you can also donate on the site: http://www.marchforourlives.com

I also encourage everyone to look up your Congress representatives online, find out who they are and how to contact them. The more letters, phone calls, and E Mails they get from their voters could help push for change.

Just, everyone please be civil in your communications. I know emotions are running high after the shooting, but if Congress get letters/calls that just have insults and not constructive solutions, they’d be more likely to dismiss them. It’s harder to write off constituents who use logic in their arguments.

The above link will take you to a government site. Just type in your ZIP code, and you’ll see a list of your representatives. Once you do that, go to the congressmen/women’s individual websites, and contact them there.

Wow….they are half way to donate for 1 million dollars. Donated close to $512,000 in 22 hours. That’s super awesome and taking this issue seriously. Please donate and every penny can change lives to prevent the guns into schools. This is a learning school, not shooting and get killed.

The moment I heard the young ones speaking out I had a vision of the major event of my era; the youth that stopped the Vietnam war. It is hard to believe now how powerful a body we all were fighting back then. The shootings and killings of protesters, but eventually, all around the world, the war was stopped. The same thing can happen NOW with the gun laws in the US. Donations don’t just have to come from Americans. Many of us would love to visit a peaceful USA without fear of being gunned down by some crazy nut, or police officer. Thank you Eric for the opportunity to talk to this matter. Pete

These kids are so brace to stand up to him.

    Will this movement get bigger?

One very safe thing to say is eventually these children will be in power, then you can expect to see heavy handed change.

I honestly don’t see how violating the constitution could possibly solve the issue of school shootings. The shooting could have been thwarted if the FBI had done their job in the first place. The road of gun control only leads to conflict. I’d much rather be happy in my home with my AR-15 in the gun cabinet, than having to use it because of nation-wide rolling confiscation.

      Daniel,
Please keep in mind, no one’s pushing for complete gun control–they’re not planning on taking all weapons away from law-abiding citizens.

But civilians should be able to defend themselves with normal guns, handguns, and rifles—automatic weapons are meant for bloody, battle-field combat. Civilians shouldn’t have access to those guns, just the military. Self-defense and hunting can be honored without essentially making machine guns available to everyone.

Also, people are pushing for better safe-guards and background checks on gun-owners. The shooter was mentally ill, had a well-documented history of threats, abusing animals and people alike, he’d been reported multiple times.
There need to be safeguards and better background checks so people like him don’t have easy access to automatic weapons.

Would that stop all shooters? No, probably not. But it would make it harder for them to carry out a mass-killing, give people a better chance to survive. And if they can’t access weapons so easily, there would be more time between the planning and carrying-out-attack phases. This might give police more of a chance to catch them.

I do agree with you that the FBI bungled the investigation. That needs to be addressed, too.

I also agree that people should be able to defend themselves–the second amendment is necessary.

But it’s also critical to use the 2nd amendment responsibly. People have a right to own firearms, but not if they prove to be a threat to themselves or others. Even though people can do something, it doesn’t always mean they should.

With better background checks, as well as restricting automatic weapons to the military, the 2nd amendment can still be upheld, but in a safer, responsible way to prevent mass shootings, whether at schools or because of terrorism. With these ideas implemented, people can buy guns for self-defense, too, as long as they don’t have serious issues like the Florida shooter.

In District of Columbia v. Heller, it very clearly state that society (government, convened to collectively protect us from what we can’t protect ourselves from as individuals) has the right to, and legitimate interest in controlling gun ownership, in several specific ways.

On pp. 54 and 55, the majority opinion, written by conservative bastion Justice Antonin Scalia, states: “Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited…”. It is “…not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.”

“Nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”

“We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms. Miller (an earlier case) said, as we have explained, that the sorts of weapons protected were those “in common use at the time”. We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons.’ ”

The court even recognizes a long-standing judicial precedent “…to consider… prohibitions on carrying concealed weapons.”

These children can move the needle, it is what they are here to do. I read they are indigo children. “They are supposed to be the ones that do the rallies to show what’s wrong in our country and to fight for the good of our country and the world. The crystal children will follow.”

Totally agree Kaben. I have read quite a bit about the Indigo children and the crystal, or as some say, the star children who will follow. They will not be bought. They will not stand for all this inequality. They will not believe or go along with all the lies. They are the hope of the future they are the light. I applaud them and admire them.

A gun violence prevention proposition should be submitted to the

    So which is it?
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
    or
Disaffected and socially awkward young men, perhaps suffering from undiagnosed and untreated mental illness, with no ties whatsoever to the Army Reserve, the National Guard or any other well regulated defense or security group, shall not have infringed their right to keep and bear large numbers of high-powered, military-style, assault rifles, magazines holding up to 100 rounds of armour-piercing bullets, and semi-automatic pistols.

    Two possible ways forward:

    1. It is customary in developed countries to refer particularly divisive and important national issues, such as Gun control, back to the people it mainly affects. The debate of gun control is too important to leave to politicians or interest groups. Let the people decide – I suggest the Repeal of the Second Amendment should be put to the people by National Ballot. Who could then argue about the will of the people – and clear the issue once and for all.

    2. Repeal of the Second Amendment that does not affect anyone currently alive:

    • Bring in restrictive gun ownership laws for all those born in the USA after January 1st, 2020.

    • As current gun owners die, their guns are surrendered to the local Police Department for destruction.

Surely no one could object to this since the unborn and dead cannot lobby against it.
